Golf with a purpose

The coastal community of Carolina Colours will hold its Kay Wilson Memorial Golf Tournament on May 8. The annual event, which is sold out for this year, honors an early and beloved resident of the New Bern, NC golf community, with net proceeds going to the Relay for Life and that organization's efforts to fight cancer. Carolina Colours GM Ken Kirkman says the goal this year is to raise $30,000 from entry fees, sponsorships and an auction that includes items donated by local businesses.  Carolina Colours features new homes priced from the low $300s and lots from the $40s in a community that includes a fine Bill Love designed golf course, new swimming pool and other amenities.  Every Friday night, many residents enjoy a cocktail hour and informal dinner in the community's clubhouse.  For more information about Carolina Colours, click here.
