Busy, busy at Savannah Lakes real estate agency

Southern real estate agents are happy to acknowledge that a brutal winter up north has been good for business. Michael Sherard, our man at Savannah Lakes Village in McCormick, SC, is one of them.
“Warmer weather and another harsh winter up north really brought out the buyers,” he wrote in his monthly newsletter recently. His agency wound up with 10 homes under contract in May, spread among interior, lake and golf lots. Traffic to the agency’s web site, which can be accessed at our Savannah Lakes Village page, is also way up; 112 people in just one week, Michael says, accessed one of the listings for a lake home. And during the month, apparently the agency’s web server shut down because of overuse; they have since upgraded the system.
Savannah Lakes Village is among the best buys in golf communities. It features two excellent golf courses that are different enough to keep members from wanting to wander too far afield to play (which is good, since Savannah Lakes is 35 minutes from the nearest full-service town, Greenwood, SC). But between the golf and adjacent Lake Thurmond, there isn’t much reason to stray.
