Originally designed by the renowned southern golf architect George Cobb, and redesigned by Tom Jackson, the 55-year-old Green Valley Country course winds its way around the Reedy River, which comes into play on 10 holes (lakes intrude on five other holes). After some years as a semi-private club, new ownership has recreated the members-only status of Green Valley and developed a master plan that includes a golf academy. The surrounding neighborhoods of single-family homes add to the refined nature of the community; homes start in the low $300s, with the most expensive golf home currently for sale at $800K. You won't find a golf community much more conveniently located to both downtown Greenville and Furman University.
