Loss Leader: Myrtle Beach Golf Course stops at nothing to attract Saturday golfers

Summertime is the low season for golf in Myrtle Beach, and Saturdays are lowest of the low for local golf courses.  Saturday is getaway day for the many families and golfers who rent town houses or stay at the beachfront resorts.  One area golf course, Heron Point, has decided to make a Saturday offer that can barely be refused to area golfers who don't come and go.

For the thousands of holders of the Myrtle Beach Golf Passport, which is available for $39 annually to any full- or part-time resident of Horry and adjacent counties, Heron Point is hosting a four-person captain’s choice (aka “scramble”) format event on Saturday August 6 at 10 a.m.  Included are green fees, breakfast, a sleeve of golf balls, prizes for teams that finish in the top four, a free raffle, a DJ playing oldies and beach songs, unlimited beer, wine and soda all day and, after golf, an Italian themed cookout and party.

The price tag for this grand buffet of golf, food and drink is just $25, a bargain price for the golf alone.  For more information, go to the Myrtle Beach Golf Passport web site or call Heron Point directly at (843) 650-6664.
