Market updates, Twitter style

Everyone’s busy these days, it seems, and none more so than real estate agents in the southeast who help customers buy and sell golf homes and property.  Most are reporting their highest sales traffic in five years.  In the interest of brevity and your time, dear reader, we asked a few golf community specialists whom we work with to give us a Twitter-style update on their markets.  Here are a few of their comments, all in 140 characters or fewer.

Landings 2012 sales more than double 2009, and transactions through the 15-year old community-owned real estate marketing firm nearly TRIPLE. -- Bill Houghton, President, The Landings Company, The Landings, Savannah, GA.

Local market: 1 buyer for 5.9 homes (8.6 homes in 2011). 14 Glenmore sales year-to-date, 26 homes on mkt (2 new), 43 lots available in new section, 6 homes in construction.  -– Tom Pace, Better Homes & Gardens, Keswick (Charlottesville), VA, Glenmore golf community.

Market has been pretty busy here. Some inventory is at levels that are very low and sellers are raising prices. – Dennis Boyle, Atchley International Realty, Sarasota, FL. representing Sarasota/Bradenton golf communities.

Market shows definite increase in sales over past 3 years, especially in the luxury homes.  Prices on upswing, inventory decreasing, and 2013 going to be awesome year! -- Wanda Reed, Prudential C. Dan Joyner, Greenville, SC, representing Greenville golf communities.

Sales positively affected by reputation of new owners, up 28% in condo sales, up 70% on home sales. Justice Co. begun renovations, including Devils Grill restaurant. – Steve Marianella, Wintergreen Resort Premier Properties, Nellyford, VA, The Wintergreen Resort.

The 45 holes of golf at the Wintergreen Resort are likely to receive an upgrade soon under new owner Jim Justice, who also rejuvenated the Greenbrier.  One thing that will not change are the looming Blue Ridge Mountains.
